Trouble in Hong Kong

During the Tang Dynasty (618-907)Guanzhou was a port of call for Arab traders who came via the sea route.
"The barbarians lived among and intermingled with our people, intermarried, and occupied land and houses"
According Lu Jun the prefect of Guangzhou towards the end of the century

I took a group photo of Bryan and his staff before calling it a night. We had been on the road for 24 hrs without a proper rest
Spicy Sichuan Prawns
Frog legs.

Sichuan hotpot involves cooking our frog legs in really spicy soup.If you cannot take the spicy broth you can dip your food into the non spicy broth

We headed to the restaurant belt to have dinner
View of the city from the office. It is a mixture of old and new buildings
We finally reached Bryan's office. He runs a school in Singapore and this office help recruit Chinese students
There is plenty of farmland around here
As we neared the city area the train got more crowded
We transfered to the subway to get into town
There are hardly any traffic here
The bus is clean and at 2 Renminbi outrageously cheap
This was not the view I expected of Guanzhou. There was hardly anybody around. It was a pleasant environment.

View of Nansha landing port from our ferry
There were only 3 passengers on the ferry
Islands dot the area
It is obvious from the map that we were cutting down on travlling time.We were going directly into southern part of Guanzhou county instead of to Macau first and then the border crossing into Zhuhai
Turbojet high speed ferry

The planners of Hong Kong airport have done a great job coming up with the fery terminal next to the airport.you cn take a ferry to Macau, Shekou in Shenzhen or cities like Nansha in Guanzhou county
We booked ourselves on the ferry line to Nansha(Southern Sand )in the Pearl River Delta region. This would help cut down on our travelling time compared to the ferry to Macau

They even paid for our breakfast
When the manager arrived things started to happen. They paid for our ferry tickets and brought along mineral water
One of the passengers who who is from Macau made a call to the police telling them that we were abandoned by Tiger Air.
Around 7am a different airport staff came to us and told us we could go ahead and book the ferry ride to Macau. The only catch was we need to pay for it. Everybody was furious but there was nothing the customer service agent could do,she was just following instructions. This was one of the risks of flying with a budget airline, they will try to get away from paying anything in cases like this. The plane is still in Hong Kong but they would not be taking any passengers to Macau later.
